Your hosts are Graham and Vicki. The Patterson family have farmed Mt Nimrod since 1957.
Mt Nimrod is a 4045 acre/1637ha hill country run on the northern end of the Hunter's Hills. It is a working farm and runs Hereford and Angus cattle, Perendale x Texel sheep and red deer, for venison and trophy with genetics from the Rakaia Valley and Deer Genetics NZ.
Mt Nimrod is farmed extensively and in a sustainable manner, which is in balance with the natural environment of the property.
We appreciate how lucky we are to call Mt Nimrod home and to live, work and play in this slice of Kiwi paradise.
It is a privilege to share this part of New Zealand with you.
Mt Nimrod is a half hour drive from Timaru, a two and a half hour drive from Christchurch or an hour's drive from Lake Tekapo.
Follow the signs from the Cave turnoff or from Timaru and the adventure will begin.
There is vehicle access to the Mt Nimrod Pods campsite only.
The Mt Nimrod Hill Cabin requires a 4WD transfer with your gear on the day of arrival and departure from your hosts, which is included in your tariff.
If you like to come and go from the property please choose to stay at the Pods or book additional transfers ($15/transfer).
Mt Nimrod offers off-the-grid farm accommodation sites which are open all year.
The Mt Nimrod Pods glamping campsite offers glamping pod accommodation with a hot tub and firepit for two people.
The Mt Nimrod Hill Cabin is a bigger pod cabin for two in tussock hill country, with a hot tub and amazing views of South Canterbury.
When booking bear in mind that you're booking an off-the-grid escape - without the usual luxuries of a fully powered home.
Glamping accommodation is still a form of camping! If booking a stay in winter, be prepared for the elements!
Mt Nimrod does have well insulated pods, warm bedding, a hot tub, and lots of other elements to make your stay cosy and atmospheric.
But please be prepared with appropriate clothing for a glamping situation.
If extreme weather events are forecast, we will contact you as you may need to alter your booking.
As there is no street lighting on-farm please check in and out during daylight hours.

Absolutely stunning spot! My wife and I enjoyed the serenity of the birds chirping and the privacy in a spot you would never think existed. All the little touches make this experience one of a kind. The highlight had to be the wood fired hot tub with a glass of wine gazing at the stars!! This place is magical!! We will be back. Thank you Vicki and Graham.

What an amazing little gem this place is. Everything has been thought of right from the little wee details. The bbq box is a must to add to your stay. You have the great view of the native bush walks nearby. The highlight for us was being able to gaze at the stars in the hot tub. A place we will come and stay again. Thank you Vicki and Graham. Mt Nimrod Pods is absolutely incredible. It exceeded our expectations by a mile and really felt like a home away from home with all Vicki’s personal little touches. The BBQ box is amazing and I highly recommend ordering one for your stay - you will not be disappointed. Even on a rainy miserable evening you can still enjoy yourself in this little glamping retreat, but there truly is something magic about stargazing in the wood fired hot tub on a clear night. Thanks Vicki and Graham we will be back 😊

Don't even hesitate to stay at the Mt Nimrod Pods. All the fun of camping but with the comfort of a wonderful soft bed in a pod. The Hot Tub and Fire pits were so good and helped with the relaxing atmosphere. Vicki and Graham's extra treats were very thoughtful and appreciated. Can't say enough about staying here. If you're looking for a few days to chill out, get off the grid and relax, this is the place to go. One night is not enough.

Wow, what an amazing spot!!! My husband and I really enjoyed our time at Mt Nimrod. The accommodation was a slice of heaven and all the little details were so thoughtful! We loved the antler details, the Mt Nimrod branded furniture and the S’Mores... oh the S’Mores!!!! Absolutely loved our stay. We will be recommending to others and we plan to be back :) Thank you Vicki for making our stay very special.

We’ll be back! A fantastic experience. Communication was excellent, Vicki met us and showed us everything we needed to know. The barbecue box is certainly worth getting if you are there for a couple of nights. Food, nibbles, etc were outstanding. All the comforts of home while sitting in idyllic surrounds, listening to the native birds and the creek. The hot tub is fantastic and crawling into a super comfortable warm bed was bliss.

Mt. Nimrod Pods is an absolute gem. Everything has been so thoughtfully and beautifully provided that you cant help but feel happy and relaxed, especially in a place of such natural beauty. We got the BBQ Box and we were so happy we did. It was absolutely crammed full of delicious goodies, and two adults couldn't finish it over the 24 hours we were there. When we weren't enjoying the hot tub and firepit (try the special doohickey for making smores, they come out so perfect!) we enjoyed a bit of hiking at the nearby reserve, saw some beautiful birds including kereru and a falcon, and in the wee hours heard owls. We couldn't be happier with our stay and can't wait to return.

What an incredible place to stay! Vicki and Graham have created the perfect place for a magical trip away! Vicki met us on arrival and showed us around, so warm and welcoming. She has thought of every little thing to make this a special place to stay - from the cosiest dressing gowns, s’more making ingredients in the fridge, even face cream and perfume in the bathroom pod. The bedroom pod had the bed of dreams, I haven’t had such a good nights sleep in months, and what a wonderful view to wake up to in the morning! The hot tub was just perfect to relax in after our hike to the Waterfall and again this morning before our drive home. It was honestly one of the best places I’ve ever stayed and we will definitely be back!
